K-8 9-12

A seventh-day adventist school

Why should my child study at San Gabriel Academy?

San Gabriel Academy is a Christ-centered campus and has activities that support and enrich spiritual growth. From our social activities to our Campus Ministries mission trips, we encourage students to strengthen and maintain a continual relationship with God.

We are a college preparatory institution with a well-rounded and complete educational program of academic courses, acclaimed music and art departments, a championship athletics organization, and community service opportunities. Our integrated technology program includes a 1-to-1 iPad initiative.

Be part of a global community.

SGA provides an environment that welcomes students from every continent of the world. Our diverse faculty and student body encourage you to become part of the global community and continual interaction with others from different cultures around the world.

Express your creativity and talents through different media.

The Music Department at SGA will inspire you to develop and share your musical talents in a variety of ways. Whether learning to play the piano in our keyboard lab or joining one of the musical groups on campus (Chorale, Choir, Octet, Bells, and Orchestra), you will have the opportunity to participate in concert tours, talent shows, and musical programs and productions. Your talents will be taken to the highest level of performance.

SGA's Art Department enhances the academic curriculum through such classes as Ceramics, Graphic Design, Beginning Art, Intermediate Art, Advanced Art, Ceramics, and Art History.

Become a leader.

Becoming a leader provides you with the greatest opportunity to serve others. As part of the Student Association, a member of SGA's various social and academic clubs, a participant in team sports and music ensembles, or a class officer, you will develop leadership skills that will prepare you for greater service that awaits you throughout life.

Be part of a family.

SGA is more than just an institution of learning. The administration, faculty, staff, students and families work together to create a family-oriented atmosphere. With a 14:1 teacher to student ratio, you will be able to develop strong relationships with your teachers. We welcome students from every ethnic background, culture, and religion.

Serve others.

In fulfilling SGA's mission of serving humanity, you will have opportunities to work with your classmates in weekend programs, student-to-student tutoring, community service, and domestic and international mission trips.

Enhance your athletic abilities.

SGA offers Varisty Sports in Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer and Cross Country. Our school is part of the California Interscholastic Federation and competes with other schools throughout the state. Experienced coaches will teach you the skils you need to feel confident as a member of a team.

Experience a challenging and diverse curriculum.

As a result of SGA's strong curriculum, graduates have attended schools such as Stanford, Harvard, University of California at Berkeley, California Institute of Technology, University of Southern Califormia, Loma Linda University, Cornell University, New York University, and many others. The rich curriculum includes Honors and Advanced Placement courses in Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, U.S. History, U.S. Government and Politics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Highly qualified, certified, and caring teachers engage with students indivdually and in groups.
